Crowns

For a crown that is being placed over an existing tooth, it is necessary to first remove some tooth enamel to help the dental crown fit properly. For a crown that is replacing a missing tooth, a dental implant will need to be installed. The crown can then be secured to the implant. The patient will then be provided with instructions on how to care for the restoration.
Bridges
One of the most effective ways to replace multiple lost teeth is with a dental bridge. A dental bridge consists of one or more prosthetic replacement teeth that are supported by two dental crowns. The crowns will be placed on teeth at the two “ends” of the bridge to support the replacement teeth in the middle. These replacement teeth will “bridge” any gap that was created from the lost teeth. Dental bridges remain secure due to the support that is provided from the dental crowns. With proper care, a dental bridge should remain intact for life. However, the restoration will most likely require some maintenance and repairs every few years.
